Rock Body Fitness classes are The Rock’s specialty classes focusing on developing the strongest YOU possible!
After spending over 20 years in the fitness industry and racking up numerous personal training and group fitness certifications, Master Instructor Darin Carr has pieced together his “best of” when it comes to The Rock Body fitness classes.
Classes focus on developing a different aspect of fitness every cycle while always doing maintenance work in the other areas. Phases run in 2-3 week phases with a major focus on a different quality each phase. This way, students and instructors get to spend enough time on one area of fitness (and actually build a positive result in that area) before moving on to another focus.
Here are the Rock Body Fitness phases:
Strength Training: 3 weeks
Muscle Building: 3 weeks
Fat Burning: 2 weeks
Hybrid Training: 2 weeks
Supple Training : 2 weeks
This phasic-style of training results in a 12 week cycle that is then repeated and built upon. Feel free to join at any phase and experience the results of building a Rock Body at The ROCK!
Fitness Kickboxing has been rated as one of the absolute best calorie burning workouts of all time. It takes the best parts of an aerobics workout (music, excitement, and energy) and mixes it with the best parts of a martial arts class (self-defense techniques, kicks, and punches). The end result is a fun, stress relieving, and dynamic workout environment.
In addition to kickboxing, we mix in resistance training of all forms (calisthenics, resistance bands, kettle bells, and more) to build real muscle strength and endurance that will give you a metabolic boost that will last for hours after your workout.
Fitness Kickboxing Frequently Asked Questions:
I’m just starting to get back into a fitness routine…can I handle your class?
Yes! ...we use a structure that allows students to truly go at their own speed and power level.
What should I wear?
Just wear whatever you’d normally workout in. We ask students to wear bare feet or socks to start and move into a martial arts type of shoe if they prefer.
How often should I come to class?
To see and feel the benefits of fitness kickboxing, students should train a minimum of three classes per week.
Should I eat before coming to class?
Because of the intensity and duration of the training we recommend that a small, liquid protein and carbohydrate meal be consumed 15-30 minutes before and after training.
Does your class allow for breaks?
For sure…because we don’t stick to any sort of tempo-driven program, students never feel out-of-place when they need to step off the mat for a rest or to get something to drink.
What if I can’t do some of the techniques?
Our instructors are always there to help our students stay safe, learn techniques and get a great workout. If at any time a technique does not feel right or is uncomfortable for you then it is very easy for our coaches to help substitute that technique for a better one for you.
